A Water Well for A Community In Haiti

This project will install a well on land available to Gospel4Haiti, creating a dependable water source that supports clean water access for surrounding families, irrigation for a community garden, agricultural education and training, small-scale income through local produce, and improved community health and hygiene. We are building a reliable water source so families can move from survival to sustainability through clean water, food security, and opportunity. We expect the project to directly impact approximately 300-500 families.

Gospel4Haiti will monitor progress through regular observation, community feedback, participation records, and measurable outcomes, including:

• Water access: households regularly using the well, year-round availability, and community feedback
• Food security: families trained, food produced, and produce used at home or sold locally
• Self-sufficiency: training participation, continued use of sustainable farming techniques, income-generating activities, and community involvement in maintaining the project

Long-Term Impact and Sustainability

A properly constructed well can serve the community for approximately 10-20 years with routine maintenance, and agricultural training can last far longer as skills are shared among families and passed to future generations. To sustain the project, local families will be trained to operate and maintain the well, manage the garden, and practice sustainable farming, becoming active stewards of the work. A portion of garden sales income, along with appropriate community contributions, will help cover upkeep of the well, solar system, and garden tools. The agricultural training center will also offer ongoing education in farming, water use, hygiene, and other practical skills.
